Happy Fall Everyone! We have been super duper busy, so there is a lot to catch up on. We both passed our first obedience class with flying colors. We had the best time making mom and dad look bad when we were at class. We knew everything they wanted us to do, but one of us would make sure to act like we had no idea what any of the commands meant. They never figured out that we had it all planned!

Marbles had her first "cycle" and it was quite interesting. Cocoa had to go live with Aunt Ronnie for a week, but then he had to come home because he was being very bad. So then, mom and dad kept us apart. We didn't understand that since we wanted to play together even more than usual. They put these weird things on us - they called them diapers - and we didn't like that at all. Once we did get back together, we were happy as could be.

Mom and Cocoa have started the second class of training. Marbles and Dad decided not to go this time because dad is working every day. Cocoa likes getting that little extra attention each week. Unfortunately, that means that he has to be bad every week, so mom isn't going to be very happy.

We are still here - Just been a busy summer

Sorry we haven't been around but we have been really busy this summer. Mom and Dad built a patio, and we were busy running around, digging where they had leveled the ground, and just adding as much work as possible. We continue to rule the house as you can see by the picture of Cocoa beating up Bones the cat. Things have settled down a little now, and hopefully Mom will let us have more computer time in the future. We miss you all and hope you are doing well.

We Finally Have Friends!!

We have gone to 2 puppy classes, and we are the best in the class. And, no, it's not because there is only one other dog in the class. We are doing very well, and it is lots of fun. We get to play with all new toys, and mom and dad have started letting us have hot dogs. They are sooo good. Sometimes we get so excited to eat them that we accidentally bite some fingers, but we really don't mean to. Mom has to keep reminding dad to only say each command once, instead of saying it over and over, especially with Marbles during the sit. We have no problem walking across the ladder, the wobble board, or the x-pen when it is on the ground. Cocoa was a little afraid of the other dog at first. He is a black german shepherd that is 10 weeks old. He is very big, and when he barks, it is very loud. Now, we just want to play with him instead of learn in class. We got some pictures of dad and Marbles and our trainer with Cocoa - mom always seems to be taking the pictures.

We finally have all of our shots. We went to the vet again on Saturday. Everyone loved us, of course. Cocoa weighs 9 lbs. 7 oz. and Marbles is still winning with 10 lbs. 6 oz. We really like getting all the attention when we go there, but we are happy to not have to go back for a while.

One of our new friends is Sierra. She is so tiny, so we feel very big when she comes to visit. She was scared of us at first, but she finally came around. We are very careful with her, so we don't hurt her. She tried to take over Cocoa's bed, but he tricked her into giving it back to him. Then he guarded it so she couldn't get back in it. They finally ended up laying in it together, but Cocoa kept an eye on her.

Mom glued Marbles' ear, and it didn't bother her too much. It lasted about a week and then came undone, and that ear went straight up again. Grandma Pat says it has to keep being reglued until she is 11 months old or it won't work, so Marbles and Mom are in for a lot of struggles over the next 6 months.

Yesterday was bath day. We can't decide if we like this or not. We do like all the attention we get afterwards. We get rubbed all over with towels and brushed. Then we get to run around like crazy!

Please let us know what you think of our stories so far in the comments below!
Cocoa decided he likes Sidney's cage . . .
so Sidney took his bed!

Catching Up

Hello everyone! Sorry we haven't posted in a while, but we have been sooo busy. There are still so many things to explore and learn, and mom always seems to forget her camera when we are being the cutest.

We are really working on the potty thing mom keeps talking about. She bought us a bell to ring when we need to go outside, and it is our favorite toy. We love the way mom and dad jump up to take us outside whenever we touch it. They seem to be catching on that we don't really NEED to go outside every 15 minutes because sometimes they make us touch it 2 or 3 times before they will take us out.

When we are outside, we love to run, dig, and eat anything interesting we can find. We have a pretty good hole in one of mom's flowerbeds that she isn't too happy about, and she keeps telling us to get out of there. She keeps saying we would be in big trouble if she had already planted her flowers. I guess we will find out how big of trouble in a month or so. We also love to dig in the horseshoe pits - that sand is very easy to move so we can make holes really fast. Of course, mom and dad always fill them right back in. We don't know why they do that because they know we are just going to dig them again.

Mom keeps talking about gluing Marbles' ear. Something about it sticking up too much. We don't see anything wrong with it, do you?

Mom and dad invited some of their friends over to visit us. They were all very nice, and one even tried to hide Marbles in his jacket, but mom caught on to that real quick. We were very careful not to get stepped on with all those people around. We were very tired by the time everyone left, and we actually let mom and dad sleep all night.

We have learned that when a certain loud sound comes from the bedroom, mom will be getting up to feed us. So, we have started barking and yelping when we hear it, just in case she doesn't hear it. Dad will then take us and put us in bed with mom, and Cocoa loves to snuggle up to her. Marbles runs all over the bed until mom gets up, which usually only takes a couple minutes.

Grandma Pat gave us a new cool toy to use. Mom calls it a tunnel, but we think it is just another way to get more treats. Marbles loves to run through it, and Cocoa likes to inspect every inch until he finds a treat. We have a feeling there is a reason Grandma got it, but we have no clue what that is.

We are very excited because mom and dad are going to start taking us to a puppy class starting on Thursday, April 26. They say we are going to make new friends and have a lot of fun. Ever since they told us we are going, we have been getting more treats. They tell us to do something like "Sit," and if we do it, we get a treat - so we always do it.

We are going to go for now, but we will let you know about all the new friends we are going to meet!

Cocoa Here

I have been waiting and waiting to get away from Marbles long enough to post my blog, and I finally did it. We have been very busy the past couple of weeks, and you get to read all about it.

To start things off, the parents ran out of dog food, so they went to get more. Unfortunately, they couldn't find the kind we were eating. Mom let the store employee and dad convince her that they had just changed the packaging and the food inside was the same - BIG MISTAKE! Mom realized it immediately after opening the bag and feeding us one time, but the damage was already done. She found the food the next day and put us back on it, but it took several days and lots of yogurt to get us back to normal. I wasn't as bad as Marbles - mom said something about Old Faithful shooting out her rear end. We are back to our original food and everything is good now.

I always seem to get into places that I can't get out of, and it scares me. One of the worst places is in the entertainment stand. I go in through the back and I can see everyone because the doors are glass, but I can't get out until someone comes and saves me. I always forget how scary it is until I get back in there, and I freak out all over again.

Our favorite place to be is outside. We love to run around the fire pit and play tag. We chew on all the branches hanging out of it, and Marbles always wants the one I have. I don't know why she doesn't just get one for herself, and I have started telling her that since I am getting bigger. The big dog, Sidney, is starting to play with us more. We had a game of tug, but she wins even with both of us pulling against her. The cats are even coming around a little bit. I jump on Bones every opportunity I get, and he doesn't make that awful hissing sound as much as he used to. Mom keeps telling me he is going to get me one of these days, but he hasn't done it yet.

We get to go see Dr. Rick on Saturday to get some more shots. We are not looking forward to it, but it gets us closer to being able to play with all these other dogs Mom and Dad keep talking about. They say they come in many sizes, so we are hoping there are some little ones for us to pick on!

Busy Weekend

We were very busy this weekend. We got to go in the car again, and Cocoa didn't get sick, so Mom was very happy. We went to this place that smelled funny, and there were several other dogs and even a couple of cats. Mom and Dad wouldn't let us play with any of them no matter how much we wiggled and whined. We got to meet someone named Dr. Slenn, and he was very nice. He looked all over us and said we looked good. He said I (Marbles) weigh 5 lbs 1 oz and Cocoa weighs 4 lbs 13 oz. We weren't very excited when he said we can't play with any other dogs for at least 8 more weeks and he mentioned something about shots. We didn't get any shots when we were there, but we have to go back in 3 weeks to get some. He said we look really good, but we already knew that - Mom and Dad seemed happy to hear it from him. We slept all the way home, then we got to play in the yard for a little while with Dad. After a while, the little people came over - Mom and Dad call them Hailie and Aiden or the "grandkids." We like jumping on them, but we always here the dreaded "No" when we do it.

The grandkids went home and we got to go out in the yard with Mom and Dad. We were out there for a long time. We tried to eat the sticks as Mom was picking them up, but she kept taking them. I kept showing Dad the holes in the fence that he was putting up that we can fit through. Mom kept telling me No, but all I was trying to do was help. Cocoa got tired and had to take a nap. We finally got to go inside and slept for 2 hours.

Please Welcome Marbles and Cocoa

On March 10, Jerry and I drove 2 hours and 45 minutes to get a new puppy after the sudden death of our beloved Australian Shepherd, Titus. After much debate, we decided on two puppies. We plan to breed them in a couple years and figured we may as well get them both now.

Marbles

Marbles was born December 24, 2011 and is a blue merle female. She is the older of the two, and she likes to let her "boyfriend" know it. She laid behind Jerry's neck the entire ride home and didn't make a sound. Of course, now that she is settled in, she loves barking at the cats and is an instigator.

Cocoa

Cocoa was born January 18, 2012 and is a red tri male. He is 3.5 weeks younger than Marbles, and at this age, you can tell the difference. He did not enjoy the ride home - he puked 5 times. He loves to play with our older dog, Sidney, until she decides it is her turn to chase him.
